Melanie + Dennis met in their high school robotics club. Their love of science, technology, and innovation brought them together. So it’s only fitting that their marriage begin at The Bakken, a science museum whose mission to inspire a passion for innovation could not be more perfect for two passionate innovators.
For their wedding at The Bakken Museum, Melanie + Dennis mixed parts of a traditional Jewish wedding ceremony with modern ideas. They wrote their own vows and sealed it with a kiss and the breaking of a glass in front of family and friends in the gardens of the Bakken.
After a romantic first dance, a few toasts, and cutting the cake we rushed over to take some wedding photos at Lake of the Isles in the beautiful golden hour light. The willow trees on the shore are so majestic, I loved shooting through their branches to capture sweet moments between Melanie + Dennis. When we returned to The Bakken the couple were hoisted up on chairs during the hora, a Jewish wedding tradition. The night ended in a flurry of confetti as the newlyweds exited the venue. Congratulations Melanie + Dennis!
