Small Town Minnesota Engagement Session and Pregnancy Announcement

I met up with Alex + Nathan on a winter day in Red Wing to grab some very Minnesota engagement photos. They brought along a sonogram image and cute letter board because, in addition to celebrating their engagement, they also planned to use these photos to announce that they’re expecting a baby! I was so excited to do this for them, because I’ve never had the chance to shoot pregnancy announcement photos before.

We had such a nice time exploring the streets of Red Wing. It’s such a charming town and all the Christmas decor was still up which added a really lovely festive atmosphere, so fitting for this this couple. Alex + Nathan were always cracking each other up and it was such a joy to watch how tender they were together.

On the drive into town, I spotted a frozen marsh by the road (one of my favorite things to see if I’m honest) and they were game to follow me there and grab some photos with the beautiful prairie grass Minnesota is known for. I think these are my favorite shots from the day.
